Comment 1 Chris Mayo 2020-10-27 19:36:12 UTC
Thanks for testing and the log.

I think the cause is that media-gfx/imagemagick is not built by default with JPEG support.

This then makes this line fail in t/1601_import_DjVu.t:
system('convert rose: test.jpg;c44 test.jpg test.djvu');

New PR updating gscan2pdf-2.9.1.ebuild linked.

I don't think this is the reason,

> [ebuild R ] media-gfx/imagemagick-7.0.10.34-r1:0/7.0.10::gentoo USE="bzip2 corefonts cxx djvu fftw fontconfig fpx graphviz hdri heif jbig jpeg jpeg2k lcms lqr lzma pango perl png postscript raw svg tiff truetype webp wmf xml zlib -X -opencl -openexr -openmp -q32 -q8 -static-libs -test" 0 KiB
Comment 4 Chris Mayo 2020-10-28 19:46:56 UTC
OK, thanks - at least enabling jpeg for imagemagick was required.

And I think it was the right problem line in the test, I just didn't spot the semicolon.

With:

app-text/djvu-3.5.27-r2::gentoo USE="-debug -doc -jpeg tiff xml"

I get the same error as the attached build.log:

$ c44 test.jpg test.djvu
*** [1-14410] Unknown PPM file format.
*** (GPixmap.cpp:502)
*** 'void DJVU::GPixmap::init(DJVU::ByteStream&)'

After enabling the jpeg USE flag for djvu the error goes away.

I've linked a second PR with an updated ebuild:
https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/pull/18062

Also confirmed with x86 stabilization:
