After upgrading media-video/ffmpeg to stable 4.3.1 profiles in the Rendering dialog disappeared, e.g., Generic/MP4 and Audio only/MP3. Downgrading ffmpeg to 4.2.4 made them available again.

I am a bit reluctant of vastly updating my production system at the moment.

Vastly? Seems like keywording kdenlive would be enough.

But also, try upgrading to media-libs/mlt-6.22.1-r1 independently of kdenlive.

I can confirm this issue.

Downgrading to media-video-ffmpeg-4.2.4 resolved it for me. Upgrading to kdenlive-20.08.2 did not.

I'll try upgrading media-libs/mlt later this day.

You are right, I thought that an upgrade of kde-frameworks/* would be necessary. Will check whether an upgrade fixes it, thanks.

The following combination of packages also solves the issue:

- media-libs/mlt-6.22.1-r1
- media-video/ffmpeg-4.3.1
- kde-apps/kdenlive-20.04.3
