After a few discussions in #gentoo and some tests on 3 of my amd64 systems, I politely request that the ldap USE flag is considered to be removed as a default from the profile mentioned in the Summary. In my systems, I removed it globally via package.use and -after a while recompiling some big packages including libreoffice- everything seems to be running fine. Unless there is a strong case supporting that most users of the aforementioned profile require ldap, I believe it would simplify it for most of us.
