Description Juozas Pocius 2020-08-23 05:30:49 UTC
When trying to access mirror located at https://gentoo.ussg.indiana.edu, e.g load an url such as https://gentoo.ussg.indiana.edu//releases/amd64/autobuilds/current-install-amd64-minimal/, some times redirected from https://bouncer.gentoo.org/fetch/root/all/releases/amd64/autobuilds/current-install-amd64-minimal/ I get an error about unsupported SSL version.

Error code: SSL_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED_VERSION
Software: Mozilla Firefox 79.0 on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
Platform: 64-bit
TLS version used by server: 1.0 or 1.1, deprecated by the browser.

Other mirrors that chosen randomly work fine, no problems at all.

Instead of getting an unsupported SSL error, I just get a timeout (and it retries 3 times, so very annoying).

Connecting to gentoo.ussg.indiana.edu|156.56.247.195|:443... failed: Connection timed out.
Retrying.

It seems this mirror is out of order and perhaps be removed from the roster for the time being?
Comment 2 Juozas Pocius 2020-12-04 11:12:05 UTC
By the time I reported this bug the mirror returned ssl error, later it became totally inaccessible. Now it's not connecting at all and it's gone. Not sure if any redirector redirects to the mirror though, didn't check for a while.
