renaming the ebuild seems to work.
I second this request. This is important, because version 1.5 is now unable to connect to Skype at all (it's been like this since 2-3 days). Upstream developer is aware of the issue: https://github.com/EionRobb/skype4pidgin/issues/656. For now the workaround is to use "Alternative login method", which doesn't work correctly in version 1.5: "Login error: No handler found for resource (code 40499)". This error has been fixed in 1.6. Updating the plugin to the latest stable version will at least make using the workaround possible. Af of now, this plugin simply does not work at all.
