New version is released, great new thing is move to x11-libs/gtksourceview:4 Support Python 3.8 Updated dependencies: Python 3.6 GTK+ 3.20 GLib 2.48 GtkSourceView 4.0 pygobject 3.30 pycairo 1.15
3.21.0 is a development release, not meant for general consumption. Though unlike https://bugs.gentoo.org/664862#c3 it's at least newer than the last stable release. 3.20.x can be built to use py3.8 too, and I use it daily via python:3.8
New version => version bump Revised ebuild necessitating renaming of the ebuild => revbump (revision bump)
I can not see a reason for not upgrading. Several distributions have 3.21 already in the tree. Seems to be stable (enough). https://repology.org/project/meld/versions
