Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge kde
2. wait for 5-10min of compiling

Actual Results:  
emerge exits and fails 

Expected Results:  
emerge kde

Unfortunately, we can't do anything about this.  Most likely culprit is bads ram or an overclocked/too hot CPU.
