First, thanks for taking care of this. Sword and its modules were I believe more or less maintainer-needed for awhile (equery meta says you're listed as maintainer now) and it's nice to see someone working on them again. =:^) But to the matter at hand. (sword-)WebstersDict is renamed to ... (sword-)Webster1913 ... with a homepage of ... https://crosswire.org/sword/modules/ModInfo.jsp?modName=Webster1913 Upstream added an 1806 version (Webster1806) as well, thus the rename to include the year. Of course both 1806 and 1913 copyrights are expired so they are public domain and there are no licensing issues. =:^) So WebsterDict should remain but renamed as Webster1913, and it'd be useful to add the Webster1806 variant as well, since it's a century closer to the 1611/1769 King James version which can be useful where word meanings have changed. (FWIW in case there's some confusion, sword-Webster is the same author, Noah Webster, but it's his version of the Bible, not the dictionary he's so associated with today, and RWebster is the Revised Webster Bible from a few years later (1833). Those remain and are safely out of copyright of course.) Looks like (sword-)WEB (NOT Webster related, World English Bible, 1997 so copyright's likely indeed the problem there) and (sword-)HNV (which is WEB with the Hebrew name forms restored) are indeed gone, or I can't find them upstream, anyway. Those are the only others on the list I had merged. What about adding NHEB, New Heart English Bible, 2009 but specifically placed in the public domain and found at... https://crosswire.org/sword/modules/ModInfo.jsp?modName=NHEB Or should I get proper and create a WANTED bug for that and Webster1806? (I think I know the answer to that but...) There are likely a few more newer modules that I'd be interested in (English, perhaps Hebrew/Greek/Aramaic) if I look. Separate bugs for each or a combined bug with a list of all the new modules I'd like that look license-safe to cache, along with homepage and copyright info? (Looks like 1924 is currently the "safe year" for anything relevant.)
I've seen it, and e.g. FarsiOPV and SpaRVG2004 have also been renamed. Possibly others as well. In case of such modules their inclusion in last rites is more of a reminder for myself to place them on top of the update queue (each of the three cases mentioned above is now very much outdated in Gentoo), to be taken care of as soon as sword-module.eclass has been modified to actually let developers without admin-level privileges update SWORD modules. The eclass changes are now under review on the gentoo-dev mailing list so chances are I'll be able to take care of these by the end of the week. That said, if there are any other modules you would like added by all means do open WANTED tickets here! At the moment there are 179 (!) Bible texts alone that are available upstream yet absent from Gentoo, and even with some level of automation in ebuild generation, getting all the missing modules - or at least those which do not require registration - in will take a while. Having some priorities will definitely help.
