Having just tried it on my system, media-libs/gexiv2-0.12.0-r1[python] builds fine when updated to support python3_9. I have run tests as well but I do not think they cover Python bindings, then again these mostly rely on Gnome introspection. Finally, the test suite of app-misc/gramps[exif], a reverse dependency of gexiv2, produces no unexpected errors when emerged for PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python3_9".
Thanks for testing it! Please feel free to add this yourself, without revbump to the existing last revision.
