Thanks for pointing that out, after some time testing with different combinations of options I have finally been able to reproduce the bug. "dev-python/importlib_resources" is just a backport of a part of the standard python library that is only present in python >= 3.7. As this ebuild only supports python 3.7 and 3.8 it shouldn't be a problem (in theory) since those versions include that module by default. The problem is that the live branch relies on sphinx to build the documentation and it is not required to have python >= 3.7 support in sphinx so as to merge this ebuild. As a consequence it is possible to merge this ebuild using python 3.7 for the compilation phase and 3.6 or lower for the documentation installation, and that's where the bug appears. I will make some changes to the ebuild as soon as possible so as to use python >= 3.7 in the whole merge process, which fix this problem. Thank you very much :)
