Service gnome-base/gnome-keyring seems to be the provider of service org.freedesktop.secrets . I wonder if it's just a test dependency or a runtime dependency as well. Any thoughts?

I go to great lengths to keep gnome packages away from my system. If it's just a test dependency I can live with keeping "test" p.u.masked for secretstorage, if it's a runtime dependency I haven't seen any ill effects, yet.

I suppose it can use any secret service implementation. However, I'm not aware if there's any other than gnome-keyring. FWICS upstream code accounts for some mock server option but it doesn't seem to be included in the repository or documented anywhere.

Whether it's rdep, it depends on how you look at it. You can't use the module meaningfully without it. Though I suppose you can live without it if you expect the module to be just a no-op to satisfy some package's dependencies.

That's exactly my position. Thanks a lot.
