Weston 8 was released two weeks ago: https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/wayland-devel/2020-January/041147.html I copied weston-7.0.0-r1.ebuild to weston-8.0.0.ebuild and it works. With weston-8.0.0.ebuild, I get a warning message: WARNING: Unknown options: "simple-dmabuf-drm". But it seems harmless. Weston 8 compiles and installs without problems.
