I have 'net-vpn/openconnect-8.05' and 'net-vpn/networkmanager-openconnect-1.2.6' installed and can create a VPN connection via openconnect CL. However, with 'nm-applet' (in XFCE), I get: /usr/bin/nm-connection-editor: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/NetworkManager/libnm-vpn-plugin-openconnect.so: undefined symbol: openconnect_free_supported_protocols Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch nm-applet from a terminal 2. Click on the applet icon in XFCE's panel - notification area 3. Click "VPN connections" -> "Add VPN connection" Actual Results: Crash with error as per description above Expected Results: Dialogue opens for the new VPN connection The crash can be reproduced by calling directly nm-connection-editor from a terminal, then clicking "+" (add connection). The problem is with your net-vpn/networkmanager-openconnect install using symbols not found in openconnect package shipped library anymore or something. Try to rebuild networkmanager-openconnect and see if it succeeds
Rebuilt 'networkmanager-openconnect', same error.
I had the same issue. My net-vpn/networkmanager-openconnect was installed with gtk disabled USE-flag. Issue has gone after I enabled it.
(In reply to Alexander Abrosimov from comment #4) > I had the same issue. My net-vpn/networkmanager-openconnect was installed > with gtk disabled USE-flag. Issue has gone after I enabled it. Indeed this is the solution. This issue should be closed.
Yeah, it works with USE=gtk :-) Maybe the flag name/description should be improved? It now reads: gtk : Add support for x11-libs/gtk+ (The GIMP Toolkit) Given that the real target is the nm-applet, something like gui : Build nm-applet GUI integration support might be better... See also Bug 732704.
Of course, I was referring to net-vpn/networkmanager-openconnect. I'll open a new RFE.
