Same here - I believe it has to do with the recent upgrade of dev-lang/ocaml to 4.09 (from 4.05).
Created attachment 601740 [details] build log I can also confirm this issue, so I attached my build log.
Version 2.18.8 from here: http://lablgtk.forge.ocamlcore.org/ works fine. I copied lablgtk-2.18.5.ebuild to lablgtk-2.18.8.ebuild in my local overlay.
I also had to change SRC_URI to SRC_URI="https://github.com/garrigue/lablgtk/releases/download/lablgtk2188/${P}.tar.gz" otherwise it downloaded a 2.18.8 named tarball containing a 2.18.5 directory. Once I did that it installed fine.
