The current version of media-gfx/plantuml in Portage is quite out of date. The ebuild itself is still correct, but the version number should be altered to represent a more up to date version (latest being 1.2019.13). I was able to install the latest version by renaming the ebuild file and updating the manifest. mv media-gfx/plantuml/plantuml-8046.ebuild media-gfx/plantuml/plantuml-1.2019.13.ebuild ebuild media-gfx/plantuml/plantuml-8046.ebuild manifest emerge media-gfx/plantuml
