Hi,

This is Source Han Serif fonts 1.001 version which was released on 2017-05-08.
https://github.com/adobe-fonts/source-han-serif/releases/tag/1.001R

Source Han Serif is a pan-CJK serif fonts from Adobe released under SIL OPEN FONT LICENSE Version 1.1.

I don't think any language should be preferred to any other, and people installing this font are likely to have a CJK l10n in their configuration.
Nice way of using the l10n and subsets feature btw but I'm not sure all the applications on gentoo supports the 'locl' feature needed for language-subsets of OTF.

I used exists font package ebuild as template, and that part is in it. Although I personally prefer install them all without any l10n, but no idea why that part exists in the old one. 

Language-subsets works with gtk and qt, didn't test others.
