I'm holding back the update to xfce4-4.14 for the moment, but allowed the plugins to be updated if they claim to be compatible with the old xfce-4.12. now, something went wrong: xfce-extra/xfce4-weather-plugin-0.10.0 crashes at initialisation and does so again and again. It's just that I don't know wether that is because of the panel, the xfwm4, etc. pp. I'm uncertain where xfce desktop stores it's logs, but I can provide if given informations. thanks P.S: please assign someone mr gorny, he has done a lot of the ebuild hacing recently.
I'm afraid that this isn't going to be fixed upstream. The best I can do is require the new version in ebuild.
