According to Repology, the current upstream release is 2.15. Please bump.
I'm currently travelling and do not have access to my Gentoo machine. I'll do the bump, but it will take a bit of time.

@proxy-maint: Please perform a bump to man-pages-de-2.15 with the attached ebuild (while placing the attached patch in the files directory). Upstream is currently in a bit of a limbo state as they are in the process of adding more languages than just German, but the current Debian package is still exclusively German, so I decided to go with that. However in the future the package may need to transition to a new name if upstream continues in the current direction. What they already did is renaming a lot of the infrastructure (the new package name will be manpages-l10n). I updated the meta-data in the ebuild accordingly. What also happened is that they now have a configure script for the compression method. However the target "none" we want is currently broken (hence the new patch which fixes this). And to add a little rant: nothing of this is listed in the changelog -- I read it and thought I was in for an easy bump ...
Created attachment 597156 [details] ebuild for new version 2.16 @proxy-maint: Please bump to this new ebuild for version 2.16 instead of 2.15. It makes the patch obsolete as it was accepted upstream. Otherwise only minor differences exist to the ebuild for version 2.15. It's likely that this is the last version released as man-pages-de and in the future upstream will rebrand.
Created attachment 600272 [details] ebuild for new version 2.16 @proxy-maint: Please bump to this new ebuild for version 2.16. This now includes a fix for bug #702276.

Can you add a Signed-off-by please? Posting as a comment to this bug should be enough. Or (even better) git-format-patch it?
Created attachment 621884 [details, diff] patch for new ebuild I added a fix for the collision with xz-utils and converted everything into a patch. I hope this is as desired.

I hope this is as desired. Looks good, except for two repoman warnings (which I am going to fix before pushing): RepoMan scours the neighborhood... (In reply to Ulrich Müller from comment #11) > @Markus: Are you going to maintain a possible app-i18n/manpages-l10n (or > man-pages-l10n) package? I would take it otherwise. I would have a weak preference for handing the package to a non-proxy maintainer. If however you would be glad to have it off your back I'll go for it.
(In reply to Markus Oehme from comment #12) OK, I am going to take the package then. Thank you very much for maintaining man-pages-de.
