The ebuild restricts media-libs/libvpx to versions <1.7.0; whereas the latest version available is 1.8 (unstable) and 1.7 (stable). Proposed solution is to remove the restriction on specific versions of libvpx for media-tv/mythtv-29.1 OR do a version bump of the dependency on <media-libs/libvpx-1.8.0. Reproducible: Always
There's a related bug from 2017 relating to previous versions of the relevant packages; i.e. Bug 591006 As far as I can tell, there are no known issues reported that would prevent this proposal from being implemented. I have built and tested the ebuild accordingly on my system.
