I knocked together my own OpenSCAD 2019.05 ebuild this morning before finding that it was already in Portage. In so doing, though, I found that it was complaining in the configure stage that lib3mf was missing, so I went ahead and put together an ebuild for that, too: https://bugs.gentoo.org/686476 The FIXME comment for this ebuild says there are some other libraries not yet in Portage...might have a look at those as well.
Hi Scott, nice you put together an ebuild for lib3mf. The other two packages mentioned don't need an ebuild, there's one in the tree for both AFAIK, the need to be supported by the ebuild. I'm already at it.
