Is needed for the stabilization of media-video/ffmpeg-4.1.3 #682558.
This version of gegl is NOT backward compatible with the actual stable ffmpeg and for this reason must be stabilized TOGETHER with ffmpeg.

This ticket would be obsolete if the stabilization of a newer gimp version would be done first.

I believe this can be closed as a duplicate of bug #684522 if gegl-0.3.34 would be good enough, as well?

I would suggest to wait until the stabilization of media-gfx/gimp-2.10.8-r1 for x86 is done.

On alpha, ia64, ppc, ppc64 and sparc, gimp-2.8.22-r1 is still the latest stable version. Moreover, arches except for amd64/x86 aren't even keyworded yet. We can't wait for that to happen.

gimp-2.8.22-r1 depends on gegl:0. The latest stable versions of gegl:0 fail to build against ffmpeg-4, but do not restrict to <ffmpeg-4.

However, gegl-0.2.0-r6 depends on >=ffmpeg-4.

But this bug can not block bug 682558 and depend on bug 682558 at the same time.

=> gegl-0.2.0-r6 must be stabilised in the same bug as ffmpeg-4.
