Should this ebuild track edk2 development upstream? Seems version update is required to bring in line.
Upstream for a long time did not do any regular versioning. The "_p" idiom tells you that this is a "post 2017" release done at a particular day. I will switch to the new upstream release number YYYYMM for the next version bump.
