Just renaming www-apps/trac-1.2.1 seems to work.
I notice that the latest stable release of trac is now version 1.4.1, but gentoo still only has 1.2.1. It doesn't look like it has a maintainer since April 2018. 1.4.1 was released about 6 months ago, but unfortunately still requires python 2.7. Website says that version 1.6 will require Python 3.5 https://trac.edgewall.org/milestone/1.6
www-apps/trac is probably getting removed from Gentoo because nobody is really maintaining it. But because we to stabilize one final version for a security bug, I'll bump to latest 1.2.x release.
