Gentoo has a "policykit" USE-flag, but a sys-apps/polkit package. This is a source of slight confusion. If Gentoo will not rename the "policykit" USE-flag (see bug #438320) and continue to refer to Polkit using its former name, I suggest that the USE-flag descriptions at least contain a reference to sys-apps/polkit. Most of the descriptions already do so, but not all: # quse -D policykit global:policykit: Enable PolicyKit authentication support local:policykit:app-emulation/virt-manager: Enables sys-auth/polkit authentication support, required when using app-emulation/libvirt with PolicyKit authentication local:policykit:net-firewall/ufw-frontends: Use pkexec to gain root privileges local:policykit:net-misc/spice-gtk: Enable sys-auth/polkit support for the usbredir acl helper local:policykit:sys-apps/pcsc-lite: Uses sys-auth/polkit to restrict access to smartcard readers or smartcars to given users. local:policykit:sys-auth/consolekit: Use the PolicyKit framework (sys-auth/polkit) to get authorization for suspend/shutdown. I also suggest that the DESCRIPTION of the sys-apps/polkit package include a note about the former name of Polkit being PolicyKit. Thank you!
As far as I can tell, all local descriptions of policykit useflags contain <pkg>sys-auth/polkit</pkg> tags. Do we want to add a sys-auth/polkit reference to the global description too or can this bug be closed?
This seems like a job for the polkit maintainers, not QA.
