Currently this is setup as a distfiles mirror on http/https. Is there also a need for an rsync mirror?
Hello, just a bump to see if there is any interest in my request.
Thanks, but we have enough mirrors in Europe. -A
If the offer is still on the table, I think we could take you up on this one.
Hi, What type of mirror do you need, gentoo-portage or distfiles? Also, do you have an estimate of the expected bandwidth requirements (volume/month or equivalent)?

Also, do you > have an estimate of the expected bandwidth requirements (volume/month or > equivalent)? We currently have no rsync mirrors in Sweden and we have 1 distfiles mirror. Ideally, you could provide both, but just one is OK (if I had to choose, gentoo-portage/rsync please). https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Infrastructure/Mirrors/Rsync and https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Infrastructure/Mirrors/Source have bandwidth/storage requirements.
I had originally intended as a source/distfiles mirror, but rsync of gentoo-portage could probably be done too. I have read both links but found little information on the recommended rsyncd.conf settings for a secure setup.
Perhaps you can contact me on #gentoo or #gentoo-dev (@Forza) to dicuss the details? Thanks
I have setup both types of mirrors now. Gentoo Source/distfiles. Synced every 4 hours. * https://mirrors.tnonline.net/gentoo/gentoo-distfiles/ * rsync://mirrors.tnonline.net/gentoo-distfiles Gentoo Portage. Synced every 30 minutes. * rsync://mirrors.tnonline.net/gentoo-portage * https://mirrors.tnonline.net/gentoo/gentoo-portage/

Thanks! You have been assigned rsync1.se.gentoo.org and are in the new rsync.se.gentoo.org rotation. Please switch your gentoo-portage syncing (rsync mirror) to pull from masterportage.gentoo.org. I've whitelisted the IPs for mirrors.tnonline.net, but if you're going to use different IPs for outbound, let me know. Please let me know when you've made the switch, thanks!
I've updated to the masterportage mirror and tested with IPv6 and IPv4. All seems good :)
Excellent, thank you!
