When I run "dropbox-cli status", I get the following warning. You're using an old version of Dropbox. Please update within the next 5 days to continue using Dropbox. $ eix net-misc/dropbox [?] net-misc/dropbox Available versions: 48.3.56^ms (~)58.3.88^ms {X +librsync-bundled selinux PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python2_7 python3_5 python3_6" PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7 python3_5 python3_6"} Installed versions: 58.3.88-r1^ms(01:19:22 PM 11/30/2018)(librsync-bundled -X -selinux PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python3_6 -python2_7 -python3_5" PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7 python3_6 -python3_5") Homepage: https://www.dropbox.com/ Description: Dropbox daemon (pretends to be GUI-less) [I] net-misc/dropbox-cli Available versions: 1-r1 1.6.0 ~1.6.0-r1 {PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7"} Installed versions: 1.6.0(01:15:41 PM 07/05/2016)(PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7") Homepage: https://www.dropbox.com/ Description: Cli interface for dropbox (python), part of nautilus-dropbox The latest version I get from www.dropbox.com is 62.4.103, which isn't available in Portage.
I'm past the "deadline", but Dropbox didn't stop working (i.e. it's still working). It's been saying the following for the last few days, though. You're using an old version of Dropbox. Please update within the next 1 day to c ontinue using Dropbox.
I rebooted my system, and now it's stuck at "Upgrading Dropbox..." when starting. File sync also stopped.
If you need a short-term workaround: bumping the version in a local overlay to 68.4.102 without any changes to the ebuild results in a functional system (at least for my limited use cases).
So this headless dropbox tarball is the correct one to use? dropbox-lnx.x86_64-81.4.195.tar.gz I got it from here: https://www.dropbox.com/install?os=lnx In the "Dropbox Headless Install via command line" section.
If you want to install Dropbox manually (i.e. not via Portage), then https://www.dropbox.com/install?os=lnx is the right place to get the tarball. The latest (as of now) is 82.3.148.
