Description jorgicio 2018-08-24 14:42:53 UTC
Hi!

I'm using OpenRC as my init system, and I have no SystemD-related package installed on my system. However, 2.1.3 version of mixxx depends on upower, which has blockage with upower-pm-utils (installed because of mentioned above), so I can't install it, then I can't upgrade mixxx. It forces me to install SystemD packages.
I hope there's some compatibility between mixxx and upower-pm-utils.

Thanks.

Reproducible: Always

upower is no systemd package.

Well... someone doesn't understand that:

hackenherr:~ jorgicio% equery d upower-pm-utils                                                                                                                [19:29:20]
 * These packages depend on upower-pm-utils:
mate-base/mate-applets-1.18.2 (upower ? >=sys-power/upower-pm-utils-0.9.23)
mate-extra/mate-power-manager-1.18.1 (pm-utils ? >=sys-power/upower-pm-utils-0.9.23)
media-tv/kodi-17.3-r1 (!systemd ? sys-power/upower-pm-utils)

In other words, I can't remove upower-pm-utils in favour of upower because of packages like Kodi.
Comment 4 Andreas Sturmlechner gentoo-dev 2018-08-25 05:39:40 UTC
mate-power-manager: simply switch off pm-utils.
kodi: !systemd? || ( sys-power/upower-pm-utils sys-power/upower )
mate-applets:
upower? (
                || (
                        >=sys-power/upower-0.9.23
                        >=sys-power/upower-pm-utils-0.9.23
                )
        )

So upower is just fine.
