Could not download file protector-3.2.2-8 from any of the mirrors supplied by mirrorselect. NOTE: This is a DUPLICATE of bug 27785 which was CLOSED 1 year ago. Problem was resolved by adding additional mirrors to list in /etc/make.conf until the file was found. Mirrors from mirrorselect which did not have the file: ftp:///ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/gentoo/ ftp://ftp6.uni-erlangen.de/pub/mirrors/gentoo ftp://vlaai.snt.ipv6.utwente.ul/pub/os/linux/gentoo http://gentoo.binarycompass.org Mirror which did have the file: ftp://linux.rz.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/gentoo-mirror Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Bootstrap using the mirrors listed in "Details" 2. 3. Actual Results: Could not find "protector-3.2.2-2.tar.gz" on any of the mirrors Expected Results: It would be great if it could try other mirrors when the listed mirrors do not work (instead of just dying and exiting) Bootstrapping using Universal LiveCD from internet. Very similar output to that from bug 27785 (This is really a duplicate of that bug, but that bug was closed as being a DUPLICATE of bug 27793, and 27793 was closed as being RESOLVED - INVALID) (sorry I don't have the exact text of the error messages - scrolled off my screen already. If it would be helpful let me know and I can probably reproduce it.)
Which release of LiveCD are you using?

I am using install-x86-universal-2004.2.iso which has an md5sum: df2dd58ea0afc7a1d7b94a518097f809 I downloaded it yesterday from ftp://ftp.ucsb.edu/pub/mirrors/linux/gentoo/releases/x86/2004.2/livecd/install-x86-universal-2004.2.iso
build a newer gcc. I don't know why it's missing from the mirrors but that gcc revison your trying to build is probably to old for me even want to go hunting it down.
Huh?? I don't understand that last comment. Is protector part of gcc? I do not know what protector is. All I know is that when I tried to bootstrap it wouldn't complete until it was able to find protector-3.3.2-2.tar.gz -Acorn
added protector-3.3.2-2.tar.gz to /space/distfiles-local. It should propagate out to the mirrors again later today.
