Description Joonas Niilola gentoo-dev 2018-06-26 07:57:42 UTC
Hey,

please stabilize =dev-libs/efl-1.18.4 for alpha arm hppa ia64 ppc ppc64 sh sparc so we can drop 1.17 and its unmaintained libraries from the tree.

Let's see if the sanity-bot has anything to say about that?

Thanks!

I have seen metadata still doesn't list you as maintainer... even if you are maintaining it... do you want to get metadata.xml updated to point you as
maintainer via proxy-maint?

Thanks :)

Yes, I intend to take this package, but so far I haven't made any modifications or additions to efl. So I didnt want to create a PR just to modify metadata.xml.

You can add me if you want to commit, its faster that way. If you do, could you add me for media-libs/imlib2 too? Otherwise I will add myself once I update either package via PR. :)

Thanks!

Same build issue on my G5 (64bit kernel, 32bit userland) as with efl-1.20.7 in bug #657750. Can someone reproduce this on ppc?

Since none of efl's reverse deps are stabilized on these remaining arches, I think its safe to start removing 1.17 in ~2 weeks time. I'm not even sure if efl compiles on all enabled arches (bugs above), so in the end some might end up being dropped in the long run. Gonna ask for re-keywording when efl-1.21 hits, so then we'll find out for sure.

If you feel like programs written with efl would be nice to have stabilized on remaining arches, please continue stabilizing efl-1.18.4-r1. Efl's rdeps:
 - dev-libs/dbus-c++
 - dev-python/python-efl
 - media-gfx/ephoto
 - media-plugins/imlib2_loaders
 - sys-process/evisum
 - x11-terms/terminology
 - x11-wm/enlightenment

Thanks.

efl-1.17.0-r1 was dropped and along with it, many stable keywords. I'm happy with the current keyword situation in efl (amd64 x86 stable, rest ~) so I'm closing this stabilization request. Please, continue re-keywording efl-1.21.0 on these arches instead :)
