ebuild has DEPEND for net-dns/libidn

but configure is "checking for AI_IDN defined in netdb.h..."

and if found using that from glibc in preference.

Indeed, thanks for the report!

I fixed that in latest 3.35.2, newer versions will not have the dependency anymore
