Description Tony Vroon (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2018-04-11 11:04:13 UTC
The current stable 1.5.1 has been in the tree for a long time, and it seems 1.6.2 is a step up from a feature (patch) perspective. Would it be acceptable to have this stabilised, or is the Mongo C driver holding us back here?

Yes.

Arches, please test & mark stable:

I'm not sure if stabilizing a mongo-c-driver from 2013 is a good idea :( Since upstream wants to drop mongodb support, I would say let's kill mongodb support in pmacct.

I think it is, because we rely on mongo support operationally. I don't see how finally stabilising a newer version needs to coincide with it being made useless to us.
(Obviously there is now a development task to use a more popular pmacct transport, but that will not be done in a day!)
