Since plasma 5.10.4 (it was working in 5.9), the "Switch User" option of the kscreenlocker does not work. It show the list of opened sessions if I have login on vt, but it's not able to actually switch to it. Instead, it brings me back to the password prompt of current session. Create new session is also broken, it does not start a session on vt8 like before, and also brings me back to the password prompt. This is extremely annoying because we are used to have many users sharing the same computer. I tried many version of KDE plasma, including latest 5.12.0. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a plasma session 2. (optional) use CTRL+ALT+F1 and open a session, then go back to plasma (CTRL+ALT+F7 usu.) 3. From select Quit and Change User, or Lock Screen, and select "Change User" from the screen locker. 4. Select a user or select "New Session" Actual Results: Brings back to the password prompt of current session Expected Results: Switch to the VT selected. Or start a new SDDM login if "New Session" was selected. consolekit, I'll try to switch to elogind and see.

Upgrading to sys-apps/dbus-1.12.4 (~amd64) fixes the problem.

sys-apps/dbus-1.12.12-r1 was stabilised on amd64/x86, please re-open if this is still an issue after the upgrade.
