We kind of decided to skip wayland default session for GNOME 3.24 as well, as this time really 3.26 will follow soon(tm) with more fixes. Also then we can flip USE=wayland to default enabled in gnome profiles before 3.26 stabilization as well, without affecting default sessions of 3.24 users, as the "gnome" session will still default to Xorg over there. Bug 611146 has more details on this from the 3.22 decision and action. This is mostly a bug entry for record and referencing purposes, commit should follow soon (unless I need to rebase translations patch another day)
Looks like the old patch doesn't fail, but because some languages have updated translations (while having skipped gdm translation updates for 3.22), I still need to re-do them, so those languages don't lose the translation for "GNOME on Wayland" with the session default revert, like none did with the 3.22 patch. Easy enough, just needs my time from not just before sleep.
