Description Aaron W. Swenson gentoo-dev 2017-12-15 16:02:02 UTC
dev-db/phppgadmin doesn't appear to be active and is really far behind in supporting the latest enhancements from PostgreSQL.

Consider using dev-db/pgadmin4 instead.

Removal in 30 days (2018-01-14).

Well, i sometimes just need a tool to look up some data using a browser, and there phppgadmin comes in handy. I don't need support for every single feature supported by PostgreSQL implemented in such a tool (and since there is a SQL cmd box it's not necessary anyway).

This is a non web (i.e. http/https) tool and doesn't cover my use case.

Since there is no known bug or security hole in phppgadmin i suggest to keep it in the official portage tree.

pgAdmin4 also has a "server deployment" for this case:
