As kernel team plans to stabilize kernel 4.14 in a few weeks, it would be nice to also stabilize this version as it fixes improves support for this kernel (the only remaining issue for this is bug 639594 for guest additions) while current stable does not support it at all

4.14.x kernel went to stable... hence, this is a bit more urgent -> bug 641832
