Hello Devs.

The brand new libvirt ebuild blocks on glibc-2.26 system.

I guess this is the problematic part:

|| ( sys-libs/glibc[rpc(-)] net-libs/rpcsvc-proto )

I fixed it with:

|| ( net-libs/rpcsvc-proto >=sys-libs/glibc-2.25-r9 )

thanks and cheers

Reproducible: Always

Please attach an emerge --info.

This blocker should not occur. The original line

  || ( sys-libs/glibc[rpc(-)] net-libs/rpcsvc-proto )

is correct.

    app-emulation/libvirt: Simplify dep to avoid accidental downgrade

    With d2e149ea99196e3422f71c25ddaf0b6913af80c0 we now have a fake stable
    version of rpcsvc-proto. Thus, avoid the || ( ) logic altogether.

    According to #639056, the new version (3.10.0) also fixes rpc related
    test failures. Thanks for testing.

Please test the 3.1.0-r1 with a simplified dependency string.

Hi Matthias.

Still blocking.

ovh1 ~ # emerge -puv libvirt

When you use glibc ~arch, you need to use also libnsl and rpcsvc-proto ~arch ... otherwise you get these blockers :)
Comment 7 Thomas Stein 2017-12-11 14:56:24 UTC
You're right. Stupid me. Works now.
