meld has a dependency on dev-python/dbus-python. Grepping through the meld source code, I find no evidence that it really uses dbus-python at all. Looking at old bugs I found #446852, but the difference since that bug was reported is that the dbus-python dependency was removed completely from the meld code in 2013 Tested by force-removing dbus-python without any loss of functionality
