Please try adding this line to /etc/portage/package.use:

x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers -pax_kernel

Yes, that worked when I tried it after reading the other report.

The file being patched was removed, so there's not a lot of thought necessary for the fix I would think.

Not sure it was up to question but I can verify that setting -pax_kernel produces a working driver installation.
