Thanks for ping. You are correct. I do no use Gentoo anymore and am not in a good position to test any modifications to the dev-libs/botan ebuild. If there are issues w/ upstream (including any suggested changes to make packaging work easer) they should be opened as Github issues. But in terms of the ebuild itself I should formally resign as proxy maintainer.
