While merging sys-power/powertop-2.8, it spat out some kernel configuration errors. One such line is: * CONFIG_TIMER_STATS: is not set when it should be (the others were simple misconfigurations I've already solved) According to a web search, CONFIG_TIMER_STATS was removed from the kernel in February 2017. [1] sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-4.12.5 does not have this option. At a minimum, it seems best to hide this message behind a kernel version check, since newer kernels don't have the option and it doesn't seem to have been renamed.
