After upgrading from 8.0.0386-r1 to 8.0.0983, Vim defaults to light background. Default color scheme is light despite `set background=dark`. For Gruvbox color scheme Vim chooses light rather than dark. In GVim everything is fine. Downgrading Vim to older version fixes the problem.
