I get the same error building directly from the musescore git source code, from 2.0, 2.1. 2.2 or master branches. I suspect it may be due to the version of Qt (eg. Ubuntu build instructions says it requires Qt 5.8, but Gentoo only has 5.7 as the highest version) I found a similar problem reported at https://musescore.org/en/node/244301 but there is no solution given in the thread. There was a similar problem reported for Debian https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=871075 which they appear to have fixed, but no indication of what was done to fix it (the git commit referenced is only for the debian changelog!)
Probably this commit is the debian fix https://anonscm.debian.org/git/pkg-multimedia/musescore.git/commit/?id=bfc6223f2225ca61e05e14ca062fbe33cd1e61bc
Created attachment 489894 [details, diff] Patch for 2.1.0 Patch to CMakeLists that fixes this problem on version 2.1.0 I put this into /etc/portage/patches/media-sound/musescore-2.1.0/ and it now builds.
