Hello. Seems like a good candidate for stabilization right now.
version 0.25.0 does not seem to support ffmpeg (as opposed to libav), although libav does not seem to be a dependency. Thus, I was able to compile 0.25.0, but had no working audio. Blocking 0.25.0 downgraded me to 0.18.0 (on a side note, why have previous versions of mpv been pulled from the tree? I installed 0.24.0 in February), for which audio works.

N. Andrew Walsh see ^^^
Libav no longer holds back this stablereq. mpv[libav] is now p.use.masked.
bug submitted as Bug 622830. (ref. previous issues with audio)
mpv-0.25.0-r1 spent a reasonable amount of time in ~arch. -r2 contains two more patches for regressions introduced between 0.23.0 and 0.25.0 without any other changes, so we should be safe to stabilize it.
Dear arches, please test and stabilize. Target keywords: alpha, amd64, hppa, ppc, ppc64, x86
Stable on amd64.
This breaks media-video/smplayer: Option vo: this option does not accept sub-options. Sub-options for --vo and --ao were removed from mpv in release 0.23.0. See https://0x0.st/uM for details. Error parsing option vo (option could not be parsed) Setting command line option '--vo=xv:adaptor=0,' failed. Exiting... (Fatal error)

(Fatal error) You can workaround it by setting video output driver in smplayer to plain 'xv' and passing --xv-adaptor=0 option manually in advanced section. The best solution would be to have newer smplayer, but it's delayed indefinitely, see bug 614888.
x86 stabilization stopped due to bug 628252. Please tell me how to proceed.
Stable on alpha.
