After recent perl upgrade 5.20.2 to 5.22.0 and running all recommended commands, I have ran perl-cleaner at the end. It reported the following: * It seems like perl-cleaner had to rebuild some packages. * * If you have just updated your major Perl version (e.g. from 5.20.2 to 5.22.0), * and have run perl-cleaner _after_ that update, then this means most likely * that these packages are buggy. Please file a bug on http://bugs.gentoo.org/ and * report that perl-cleaner needed to reinstall the following list: * net-dialup/freeradius:0 x11-terms/rxvt-unicode:0 * * (Known problems have already been filtered from that list.) emerge --info Portage 2.3.3 (python 2.7.12-final-0, hardened/linux/amd64, gcc-5.4.0, glibc-2.23-r3, 4.7.10-pentoo x86_64) I confirm this bug.
The same after upgrading perl from 5.24 to 5.26.
In upgrading from 5.24 to 5.26 I have an addition app: - net-irc/kvirc:0 I think the best solution of having many reports is to make only one bug with the whole list of applications involved in the case. Don't you think so, devs? Should we merge this with the earliest non-resolved report about such type of case into bug 589874 ?
Maybe the perl team can explain what the problem is and what should be done about it.

That looks like a completely different bug.
(In reply to Jeroen Roovers from comment #5) > Maybe the perl team can explain what the problem is and what should be done > about it. Its usually either "Portage is stupid and doesn't handle leafs in subslot upgrades properly" or "User has installed an old version of package that doesn't use subslots, and so wasn't considered for upgrade" But without more data about the situation at hand, I couldn't even guess what the problem is other than EINVALID

I use x11-terms/rxvt-unicode-9.22-r2 The same bug is reproduced after upgrading to dev-lang/perl-5.28.0-r1
net-dialup/freeradius:0 x11-terms/rxvt-unicode:0 net-irc/kvirc:0 The ebuilds are all OK, so this is either perl-cleaner or portage problem.
