Created attachment 468718 [details] updated ebuild bottleneck has a new release since quite a while [0], improving performance and adding new functionality. I've attached an updated ebuild, dropping the dependency to cython and scipy and adding the nose dependency for tests (which I assume should be in the older releases as well). 1.2.1 is out.
The URL is dead and should be changed to https://github.com/kwgoodman/bottleneck/releases/tag/v1.2.1 (bug title should be updated for 1.2.1 as well)
It appears as a side effect of getting rid of cython, this is also fixing bug 634714.
