I wanted to use the current table irssi-xmpp with the current stable irssi and the result was as follows. 15:12 -!- Irssi: Error loading module xmpp/core: /usr/lib64/irssi/modules/libxmpp_core.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory 15:32 -!- Irssi: xmpp/core is ABI version 0 but Irssi is version 2, cannot load 15:32 -!- Irssi: Error loading module xmpp/fe: /usr/lib64/irssi/modules/libfe_xmpp.so: undefined symbol: xmpp_subscription I will now be trying with irssi-xmpp 0.53 instead and I expect that it will work. In that case it would be reasonable to stabilize 0.53 and phase out 0.52. Please let me know what needs to be done to improve Gentoo in that direction.
Did you ever have a chance to see if 0.53 worked OK?
(In reply to Michael Palimaka (kensington) from comment #1) > Did you ever have a chance to see if 0.53 worked OK? I think I had to give up for reasons I don't remember.
I also failed to bump it some months ago :/
Just an FYI, this package actually works fine. I'm running the latest versions of irssi-xmpp and irssi right now.
Hi! Could you provide the ebuild you used? Thanks!
(In reply to Patrice Clement from comment #5) > Hi! Could you provide the ebuild you used? Thanks! The one in the tree for irssi-xmpp-0.53. https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/blob/master/net-irc/irssi-xmpp/irssi-xmpp-0.53.ebuild
So, any chance for this package to be unmasked?
Closing as the new version is presumably working, and there are no other issues reported. commit 2ed77e35d6047cccf629780c1906df084309aa42 Author: Michał Górny <mgorny@gentoo.org> AuthorDate: Mon Aug 14 09:55:58 2017 Commit: Michał Górny <mgorny@gentoo.org> CommitDate: Mon Aug 14 10:02:53 2017 package.mask: Remove p.mask for net-irc/irssi-xmpp, #607482 profiles/package.mask | 4 ---- 1 file changed, 4 deletions(-)
