I am not sure about the timeframe for the version bump as it needs at least dev-java/mockito and powermock as new dependencies for the tests. And powermock currently isnt packaged for gentoo.
I see version 1.13 is out. Probably the same issues as in comment #1 still apply.
I believe this is blocking sci-geosciences/josm from being updated. Any chance someone could take this on?
