sadly I'm giving up on responsibility of updating it anymore
new changes to ebuild has made with sane reason
but I will prefer my version which I keep updated in local overlay because my version was literally updatable for me
Comment 2 Jonas Stein gentoo-dev 2016-06-20 14:11:07 UTC
that is sad. However thank you for providing the old ebuild so far.
Should I set the package to "maintainer wanted" now?

Do you want to give a link to your personal repository for the record? It helps others who read this ticket.

Jonas, I'm currently proxy-maintaining this ebuild. I submitted a PR with a version bump: https://github.com/gentoo/gentoo/pull/1701

no need, there is already another maintainer
maybe I'll opt out myself later but atm I can review PRs

old version is here: https://github.com/Heather/gentoo-heather/blob/master/app-editors/atom/atom-1.9.0_beta0.ebuild

in-tree ebuild is really more robust, I'm just lazy (and not sure how) to update it in-time in current structure

I think it will be handy for me to know, maybe steps to do how do you update all those hash sums and then it will be simpler

Seems like good way for documentation for ebuild atm is right inside ebuild by comment sections
