Description Coacher 2016-04-29 11:40:31 UTC
Hello.

cairo-1.15.2 was released on Dec 10 2015.

Please bump.
Comment 1 Mart Raudsepp gentoo-dev 2016-04-29 11:58:39 UTC
This is a development snapshot release, not really intended for main tree.
Comment 2 Lars Wendler (Polynomial-C) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2016-04-29 11:59:58 UTC
Nevertheless it would be interesting to find out if this snapshot fixes the cairo-related mozilla crashes we (the mozilla team) have observed in the last couple of months.
Comment 3 Lars Wendler (Polynomial-C) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2016-05-02 11:11:41 UTC
Alright, I gave that version a try and mozilal packages still occasionally segfault with it. So no need to add this version to portage from mozilla-team side.
Comment 4 Mart Raudsepp gentoo-dev 2016-05-02 13:16:40 UTC
Thanks for testing, Lars. Hope mozilla upstream (or downstream) is working on reducing the forked copies delta with upstream during the 1.15 development, so that 1.16 would be OK...
Comment 5 Matt Turner gentoo-dev 2017-02-25 23:48:12 UTC
There aren't 1.15.x tarballs...
Comment 6 Matt Turner gentoo-dev 2017-02-26 00:34:34 UTC
Oh, I see that they're in a separate snapshots/ directory. That's irritating.

This version also adds colored emoji! So +1!

I wonder if we've misjudged this. On the one hand, 1.15.14 has this in the notes.

"We're nearly ready to finalize the 1.16.0 release, so this snapshot can be considered a beta for 1.16."

On the other hand, the other 1.15 releases don't really say things like that and the other major distros are already shipping 1.15 including:

Arch
Fedora 28 (and 27)
openSUSE 15.0
Ubuntu 18.04
Debian Buster (admittedly not released but you know how conservative they are)

I'm here because I wanted to try the latest librsvg, which now requires Cairo 1.15.4.
Comment 12 James Le Cuirot gentoo-dev 2018-10-19 22:17:59 UTC
Oh well, that's 1.16 out now anyway.
