it's because you're mixing stable & unstable the stable version of gmp takes a diff code path than the unstable one which triggers this particular bug i've forced a newer version of gmp in ppl to avoid it: http://sources.gentoo.org/dev-libs/ppl/ppl-1.1.ebuild?r1=1.2&r2=1.3
